Girls’ Cricket continues to be one of the fastest growing games in schools. The range of experience of coaches and players requires a wide infrastructure of coaching and competitions to support its development. The landscape is developing rapidly, presenting new opportunities for schools to grow the game, compete and integrate with national developments.
There is a developing awareness that the girls’ game has its own requirements and approaches, and its own identity in schools. Coaching girls requires different approaches, whether they are beginners or experienced players.
This Conference provides an opportunity for the leaders of Girls’ Cricket in schools – whatever their level of experience – to update themselves with developments both on and off the field. The leading coaches of the women’s game will demonstrate contemporary technical content, but also how this can best be presented to female players. Developments around the game, and the emerging opportunities that they provide, will also be presented.
This is a collaboration with Cricket for Girls, an innovative organisation created by Lydia Greenway OBE, one of England’s leading female cricketers of recent times. It will provide a unique opportunity for leaders of Girls’ Cricket to ensure that they are at the forefront of the development of the game.
