Futsal has a growing place within schools. It has a number of functions, providing an introduction to football that is suitable for limited space and large groups. It is also a competitive game in its own right, as well as being a GCSE option which can enable inexperienced footballers to access higher grades. This course will provide an extensive introduction to the game, its skills, tactics and possibilities within schools, to enable teachers to include it within their games programme.

Course Leaders
Mark Simmons
Mark represented England in the Kuala Lumpar Fustal World Cup in 2003 and Captained Great Britain in the World University Games in Palma Spain in 2004. He is a Futsal Tutor, mentor and resource creator for the FA, and is Director Football/Futsal at Royal Russell School. He was previously Director of Sport at Wilson’s Grammar School where he introduced futsal into the curriculum for local schools. He has written resources to support delivery in schools commissioned by the FA and written CPD resources used throughout the country.
