This is an introductory course intended to enable teachers to understand the game, to teach Basketball lessons and to coach teams of lower ages and abilities. It is suitable for PE teachers without a background in the game and also those coaching school teams at lower ability levels. It will provide a range of skills and strategies, together with ways of practising and developing these with young players. Teachers will also be introduced to the Rules and the ways in which they can be applied confidently in the school setting.

Course Leaders
Mark Jarram
Mark Jarram is a professional Basketball coach of wide experience, and unrivalled success. He was Head Coach of the Loughborough University men’s team for over ten years, and coached Leicester Riders in the British Basketball League. He has also worked with professional teams in USA and Europe. He has National Team experience coaching Great Britain U16s, U18s and U20s spanning five year period, attending multiple European Championships. He has been awarded Basketball ‘Coach of the Year’ three times
