This is the country’s most popular course for those who are new to delivering Netball sessions in schools, or who have not done so for a few years. Over 1000 teachers have attended this event, over the years. No previous experience of playing or teaching the game is necessary, though most participants have a basic understanding. Participants will be introduced to fundamental Netball skills and ways of practising them, simple strategies for team play. The course will provide a range of practices, an awareness of techniques in shooting and passing as well as simple tactical understanding. It will also explain the basic rules, and how these can be applied to umpiring school games. Teachers will gain confidence that they have the skills and understanding to deliver curriculum lessons and run a school team.

Course Leaders
Karen Greig
Karen Greig is the current Head Coach and Franchise Manager of Manchester Thunder. She has led the team to multiple Superleague titles, and was the 2018 and 2022 Superleague 'Coach of the Year'. She is a former captain and Superleague winner with the same team, also achieving 40 England caps as a Goal Shooter. Karen was Assistant Coach of the full England team on their 2015 tour of Australia, and Head Coach of England Under 21. She is also a Sky Sports Expert Summariser.
